Sickness, Crankiness, and So Much Going On

Well, the "sickness" has finally attacked our house. It started with Quinton last Tuesday in the middle of the night. Waking up to a screaming toddles with a temp of 102.5 is never pleasant. Poor baby was sick and lethargic for a couple of days. The fever only lasted about 24 hours thankfully, but the crankiness that accompanies not feeling good has hung on for the last 4 days...yikes, I am ready for him to feel better. We thought we are on the mend and then yesterday morning (Saturday) Bryn got a fever of 102 and spent the whole day on the couch and in our bed sleeping. We were supposed to go to my cousin's engagement party last night and of course we couldn't take 2 sick kids so Steve said he would stay home with them while I went (very sweet). Bryn was so upset she couldn't go and kept saying she felt better and wanted to go. After she threw up, I was able to convince her that a long car ride would not be a good time and that Mimi (my aunt) would be having another party (even if not, Mimi would make up one just so Bryn could enjoy herself) and she could go then. So, off I went with 2 very yummy desserts; buckeyes and ooey, gooey, butter cookies. Both were a big hit and I had a great time visiting with family and friends, but honestly felt a little guilty being gone from the family...funny how that happens. When I got home Bryn was asleep on the couch. Steve said she asked to stay up and wait for me, so he let her. When I picked her up to put her in bed, her eyes flew open and she said, "Mommy I was waiting for you, hold me". This is the only good part about sick kiddos. They want to be held and comforted and this I can handle! Now it is Sunday and the "sickness" has attacked Steve. He has been in bed most of the day, poor guy. I have wiped everything down and am praying for everyone to recover.
And now...more sad news. Steve's grandma Lucille passed away in the early morning on Friday. She has been sick for some time and this was really a blessing, as she was ready to go. We will be traveling to St. George this week for her services. Hopefully everyone will be better by then and I will not catch anything. I am so thankful for the 4 day weekend and that I get to keep my family home for one more day to heal.
Praying that you all are staying healthy and away from the "sickness"!
